Hiking
Hiking in Sithonia offers the chance to explore beautiful landscapes and enjoy a peaceful escape into nature. All the trails present moderate difficulty, featuring paths and a few kilometers of dirt roads, with a maximum elevation change of 400 meters. The combination of pine forests and shrubby flora like arbutus, cistus, schina, heaths, and sousoura stimulates the senses with their vibrant colors and fragrant scents. Streams with small waterfalls and large, unique stones—nature’s own sculptures—reflect the legacy of Mount Athos (Metochia and Watermills) and are equally stunning as the sweeping views of the Toroneos and Siggitikos Gulf.
Diving
Diving in Sithonia is a popular activity for both beginners and experienced divers, thanks to its clear waters, diverse marine life, and interesting underwater landscapes.
Popular diving spots:
Bahia Beach – is one of the most beautiful and deeper underwater reefs all over the Sithonia and plenty of marine life – sea anemones, lobsters, moray, groupers, octopus etc.
Agios Nikolaos/Ormos Panagias – There is an archaeological place from ancient Greece and Byzantium ages till the Ottomans. Is known as “The summer house of Aristotelus”. The good news is that you can see a complete part of a real ancient Greek column, just at 4-5m depth. The water is shallow, and calm, with sandy bottom around the rocks.
